Friday 22-Nov-2019, 11:51AM / 2920

On February 3rd, 2016, we got an invitation mail from the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Senator (Dr.) Abubakar Bukola Saraki request us to be part of the National Assembly Interactive Session with Civil Society Organizations on the 2016 Budget of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The event which was held yesterday Wednesday, 10th February, 2016 at the Senate Conference Room 231, (2nd Floor), National Assembly, Abuja between 2:00pm to 6:30pm had about 90 selected CSOs in attendance, including the Initiative for Sound Education, Relationship & Health (ISERH) that was represented by its Founder/Executive Director Mr. Abdulahi Abayomi Abdulraheem and one of its Volunteers, Miss Kifayat Kikelomo Kareem.

It was a big surprise, on our part, when ISERH was called out as one of the 15 selected CSOs to make a Presentation. The presentation made by The Executive Director of ISERH, Mr. Abdulahi Abayomi Abdulraheem, held the hall spell bound for the 5 Minutes allocated to him. He spoke alongside ONE Campaign, Action AIDS, Nigeria Network of NGOs, FHI 360 etc.

His 26-point Submission had been received by the Senate President, the Speaker House of Representatives, Distinguished Senator Rose Oko (Chairman, Senate Committee on Diaspora & Non-Governmental Organizations), Hon. Peter Akpatason (Chairman, House Committee on Civil Society Organizations & Donor Partners), and other Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members of House of Representatives present.

We sincerely appreciate the supports and encouragement given to us by these individuals towards making our presence at the National House of Assembly an easy one: Alhaja Sherifat Onifade, Alh. Waliu Ibiyemi, Mr. Sarafadeen Busari, Alh. Razaq Ayeni, Mr. Oladele Rasheed (Transtudios), Mr. Waheed Ibraheem and Alh. Taofiq Babatunde Kareem (INEC Forensic Accountant, Abuja).

We as well appreciate our dear Volunteer, Kifayat Kikelomo Kareem, who came from Kaduna; Lugbe Rest House that provided us with free accommodation and meals; our Exc. Director’s Buddy: Mrs. Evelyn Ezeagu (CEO, Phelyn Skills Acquisition Center, Abuja) who was also invited, for supporting us with mobility; her Volunteer that came with her Mrs. Oby Ezeilo; and our prestigious ever-supportive ‘Patron’ Alh. Sanusi Sodiq Anwo.

As we soar high in the quest of making Qualitative Education Accessible to every Nigerian Youth; Sound Health available to every Nigerian; and Peaceful Co-existence realizable among Nigerian Dwellers, we wish ourselves more SUCCESSESS ahead…
