SDGs: ISERH Got Selected And Participated In The South-West Civil Society Workshop
It was an experience one should never miss as few selected Nongovernmental Organizations were brought together under the roof of Lady Bank Anthony Hall, Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan on Wednesday 31st of August, 2016 by the Nigeria Network of Nongovernmental Organizations (NNNGOs) in collaboration with the Campaign2015+ International and the Justice Development & Peace Commission (JDPC) for the purpose of enriching the selected organizations with the understanding of the Global Agenda on Sustainable Development.
As usual, Initiative for Sound Education, Relationship & Health (ISERH) was among the selected few that represented Osun State at the workshop. According to our Executive Director, who represented us at the event, the workshop was an eye-opener and a networking opportunity for everyone present. As academic as it appeared, so was the social aspect of it.
Dr. Tola Winjobi is commended and appreciated for his content-rich presentations on ‘From MDGs to SDGs: Understanding Global Agenda on Sustainable Development’ and ‘SDGs Implementation: Challenges and Opportunities in Nigeria’. No participant would ever say that the session anchored by Mr. Babatunde Seyi Oyebisi, The Executive Director of NNNGOs, was either boring or confusing. He is really a teacher in executive garment. He, with simplicity, took the participants through ‘Tailoring Sustainable Development Goals to National Realities’ and ‘Integrating SDGs and Agenda 2063 Implementation at the National Level’. Anyone present would appreciate the words of Dr. Mrs. Fisayo Olutayo, Coordinator of Gender Studies – Institute of African Studies, and the speech delivered on behalf of Fr. John Patrick Ngoyi.
