OSCOED CHEMSAN Students Got Empowered By ISERH

It was a great session at the Osun State College of Education, Ilesa, Osun State on Tuesday 9th August, 2016 as the Executive Director of Initiative for Sound Education, Relationship & Health (ISERH) – Mr. Abdulahi Abayomi Abdulraheem empowered over Three Hundred (300) Students of Chemistry Department of the institution.

In opening the empowerment, Mr. Abdulraheem started with inferiority complex dominant among the students of the College. He set them free by informing them that he attended three (3) major classes of Institutions we have in Nigeria: College of Education, Polytechnic, and University. He let them realize that they are what they make themselves while people will always address and see them the exact way they see themselves.

He afterwards took them on a trip to Resume and Curriculum Vitae (CV) design. He was able to clearly differentiate the two to them and explained where each is used. He rounded up his session by challenging their sense of using social media. He challenged them to go to their Social Media and delete any POST that does not befit a learned person. He explains to them that employers of labour now go as far as Social Media accounts of their prospective employee prior to giving them a place in their organization/company.

It was a great experience for the Chemistry Students Association of Nigeria (CHEMSAN), Osun State College of Education, Ilesa Chapter as they couldn’t contain their satisfaction order than to give a resounding echo of claps plus standing ovation to the young man that changed their thought within an hour.

We are now focusing on the Prospective Teachers of tomorrow: that is, Students of College of Education…
