Neither the unfriendly learning environment nor the dilapidated buildings begging for attention deters the students and the teachers of this school from being active to knowledge seeking and impacting. Information reaching the management of Initiative for Sound Education, Relationship & Health (ISERH) about the school's students level of brilliance, despite the inadequate teaching and learning materials available to them, prompted us to take our intervention program "Back to School Project" to them in order to support the school with teaching aids and provide learning materials to the 53 identified indigent brilliant students of the school.

Friday, 28th of September, 2019 was a memorable day for both the students and staff of Okebode Middle/High School, Atakunmosa West Local Government, Osun State as our team of 2, Director of Programs - Aderanti Abimbola and Agricultural Project Director - Prince Adeniran Taofiq Ademola, visited the school to distribute learning materials to the identified indigent students who had been anticipating the team's arrival.

In his welcoming remarks, the Principal of the School, Mr. M. O. Jimoh appreciated the kind gesture of the organisation for counting the school worthy without being discouraged by the remoteness of its location. He admonished the students to be of good conducts and face their studies. Our Director of Programs conveyed the good news of hope of the organisation's management to the enthusiastic students and their teachers, as he enjoined them to make best use of those materials to aid their learning. He emphasized the need to be diligent in their studies, as well as having strong determination to succeed. He however promised them a better 'Back to School Project' in the coming years - God Willing.

Chief (Mrs) Esther Ajigboteleda, the Yeye Saloro of Okebode and Chairperson - Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of the school, was present to witness the exercise. She applauded the organisation's interventions and supports towards improving the State's education, while hoping that other well-meaning Osun people would rise to help the needy to make our society better off. She was delegated alongside Chief Ajanaku, the Baba Oja of Okebode, as representatives of Oba of Okebode to welcome our team and join them in the distribution of the materials brought for the students and the school management.

It is a general knowledge that most Schools in Osun State are faced with challenges of inadequate teaching materials and as such, ISERH supports schools visited with 3 cartons of chalks as well as packs of pens with the hope of making teaching more comfortable for them. This gesture was also extended to Okebode Middle/High School.

The management of ISERH hereby appreciates Kabiesi of Okebode, his Chiefs, the school's Principal, Staff, Corp Members, and Students for the friendliness and honour accorded our team. At ISERH, it is our conviction that through continuous supports for students and staff of schools, our objective of reducing number of out-of-school children and promotion of open access to learning shall be actualized.

Our appreciation to those who supported this project and we also anticipate more supports to reach more needy children of rural communities.
