ISERH HOSTS OSUN EAST VOTE NOT FIGHT TOWN HALL MEETING
In the ongoing massive campaign against violence through the project of the National Democratic Institute (NDI) tagged "Vote Not Fight"..election no be war - campaign, Osun East Team lead by ISERH Director of Programs- Aderant Abimbola organized town hall meeting on this day TUESDAY,7TH AUGUST,2018 for the people of the zone with the hope of creating more awareness and enlightenment campaign brought about through a youth panelist session and Stakeholders session which focused on addressing issues starting from Voter education, Civic responsibilities, causes of Violence and ways to addressed the menace were discussed among others.
Youth Panelist session comprise of Olorunfemi(Former Federal Polytechnic, Ede Student Union President),Sally Temitope Adeniji-Arowosafe(ISERH Director of Vocation) Adeyemi Jephtah( Federation of Ijesa Student Union (FISU)-National president) Ajilore Oluwafemi (Former deputy senate president Osun state College of Education(OSCOED) and Alapa oladapo( former SUG Vice president, IREE Polytechnic, Osun state and the Stakeholders session comprises of Mr Alawode Lukman, Representative from INEC Electoral officer, Ilesa west, Mr Oni- NATIONAL ORIENTATION AGENCY (NOA), Mr. Olowe Olalekan, the president of ACOMORAN, Ilesa branch.
Most interesting part of the Panelist session was Questions &Contributions part as participants at the event asked series of Questions which include but not limited to PVC related issues, Penalities for election Violence, Ways to avoid Violence, How to discourage Youth from serving as willing tools in the hand of Politicians among others all in their bid to satisfy their curiosity.
Mr Bukola Idowu,Ed of Kimpact initiative and the state Coordinator of the Vote Not Fight Campaign, in his address,admonished the audience on the need to contribute their Quota in ensuring this coming election is free of violence.
The town hall meeting came to an end at exactly 2:30pm with a closing remark from Osun east Coordinator of the Vote Not Fight, Aderanti Abimbola who appreciated the participants for creating time to be part of the mission to ensure we have a peaceful election as he as well admonished plead with them to convene the message of peace to everyone they have contact with.
Present for the Town hall meeting include 12 Osun east LGA Coordinators, 79 Ward Volunteers across the zone, Indigenous youth groups,Religious leaders, Informal workers among others.
